He is a husband, parent, and former elementary, middle, high school and university teacher; middle and high school counselor; middle and high school assistant principal; elementary and high school principal; and district director of education.
He is certified by the William Glasser Institute and presents for numerous associations including the Association for Teacher Education, the National Staff Development Council, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, the National Middle School Association, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
He has been a distinguished lecturer at both state and national associations.
His simple three-step strategy is used across the entire teaching spectrum--from small childcare centers to large high schools and from rural schools in Texas to urban schools in New York City, where he has a three-year staff development contract with the New York City Board of Education.

He holds a master's degree in business administration and a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California. His dissertation is in the combined areas of guidance and instruction.
